Rambling thoughts on positive versus not-negative thinking

“What is the difference between positive thinking and just not thinking negatively?” (Thanks Jody for suggesting this topic!) This is an ingenious question. Both scientifically and philosophical speaking. I’m up working early as usual and I’m sitting next to my cat. Is it a cat? Or is it not a dog? Now I’ve suggested it’s not a dog - the concept of dog has invaded our energy space.

An amazing fact about poison

The human body can build up an extreme tolerance for poison. For instance, when we first inhale one single puff of a cigarette we can turn green and feel as sick as the proverbial dog. Yet a few weeks later, we can be smoking 20 cigarettes in a day and feeling as cool as James Dean. Same thing in Victorian times apparently. People would regularly ingest enough poison (Laudanum was popular) to kill an army.

It turns out it doesn’t actually exist in a conscious sense. In reality what we do when we believe we’re focusing on 2 things, is we flick our awareness between the two. So, each of the two things actually gets half our attention.

How to keep focused on the positive - Even when the bad stuff is almost unbearable

So I dropped my daughter off to camp yesterday morning. And have since had a big piece of heart missing. Anyone who knows me is aware that she is both my best pal and the sorcerers apprentice (twenty years from now she will definitely be writing you these messages) It’s the first time she’s been away from home for 2 nights and uncontactable. (no mobile phone network etc)
