Thanks to Jeannine for todays question!
I believe the answer is infinitely more valuable to you than a lottery win should you choose to run with it 🙂
Here’s the question:
“How to let go of something when there is so much resistance and trying to be present just doesn’t cut it because there’s even resistance to that.”
Now, imagine you’re a famous up and coming music star. You have many adoring fans.
But unfortunately some people don’t like you or your music so much. (Hey, maybe they’re a little bit country and you’re a little bit rock n roll or something like that)
Point is, do you spend your energy on the fans or the non-fans?
A lot of artists are undone by worrying about the criticism. They are undone by it. It’s a slow, painful artistic death that takes place with everyone watching.
Enter Bono with a totally different strategy.
His fans are his angels. Literally.
He doesn’t sing to them. He worships them.
I don’t care if you like U2 or not. It’s not the point.
The point is by putting their hearts, souls, their values, their beliefs out on their sleeves, then raising their audience to a higher spiritual level so that THEY are the talent.
This allows them to win. They live in castles surrounded by love and creative freedom.
I have a lot more to say on this subject. But for now, here’s my very specific advice.
Think about who YOU are. Who YOU have always been…
The people who you resonate with and they resonate with you. The things you love to do. The places and experiences you adore being around…
And sing your song from that place
Sing your song for that part of yourself and that segment of the wider world. And sing it with total joy.
Say out loud “F**k the Resistance” and feel it either slip away or come on board…
As that part of you which is authentic and infinite sings louder and louder, the resistance goes away like the party gatecrasher who suddenly realizes the party’s bigger than he is 🙂
What do you think? Time to evaporate resistance by singing from a positive heart?
