“See you at 9am!” he says. And he HONESTLY believes it.
I however, accurately translate this to “I’ll see him at 9.15”
This reality warping happens INTERNALLY and it harms us.
It calls for a great degree of honesty to recognise and work with the phenomenon called “My internal voice is not being honest with me”.
My grandparents were onto it. They used to set all the clocks in the house 10 minutes fast so that they’d avoid being late to work.
Doctors have a solution too because they know they always overrun with patients and they want you to hurry up. (Check the clock next time your in a doctor’s surgery. It will be a couple of minutes fast)
Anyway here’s something you need to know…
The deeper the excuse-habit sits in our subconscious, the harder it is to be aware of what’s happening and to be victorious in life.
It’s a form of self sabotage, this whole merry 3 chord wonder-song “I’ll do it tomorrow.”
Yes we really will won’t we?
We actually continue to believe ourselves even though we’ve heard it a million times before.
Do it now. Get it done.
Because you deserve everything wonderful that’s coming your way in life.
But you need to claim it and seize the day. Nothing was ever more true than the saying “Tomorrow never comes”
