How do you spread a message of love and possibilities when some people are so destructive and argumentative?
How do you get people to see the miracles around them and step into their genius zone when they’re determined to play small and negative?
How do you MAKE THINGS WORK OUT when they seem hopeless?
The best way is to harness that most powerful of metaphors. Your ability to fly.
Not literally of course. If you ever try to fly off of a bridge or tower and tell them “Ed told me to do it” I do NOT know you.
“Officer I’ve never met this person in my life”
Truth is though, you really CAN fly…
Personally, when I dream of flying, I awaken in that dream and feel like I have superpowers.
And the next day I can guarantee something amazing is happening. There’s a clue and a pattern. We just need to be open to these things.
Our teachers don’t necessarily have good answers for us.
I really respected this one teacher at school called “Mr Hamblyn” because he was funny. And he told us the best way to remember things was to try really hard to forget them. I always loved crazy stuff that works like that (and that’s a pattern in itself if you think about it)
Anyway I asked for his advice. “Engineering/ Metal Work or Cookery”
He told me to do Engineering because “there’s more jobs there”
What he should have asked was “Which gives you more joy?”
(In this metaphor joy = flying of course)

Anyway I spent the next few years producing hideous lumps of crappy metal blobs. Every time I did something closed down in me.
In a sliding doors kind of twist I’m really rather a good cook without having ever had a lesson. And after a difficult day, the kitchen can be a sanctuary for me. It brings me peace.
Making things out of metal (or anything else practical) you may as well ask Jonathan Livingstone Seagull to knit a pair of wooly socks.
The message here?
You’ll never get powerful by improving your weaknesses…
It’s probably one of the biggest lies told in the history of human cruelty and blind ignorance.
You get power and you get to peace by following your passions.
Go fly my beautiful genius!
