The human body can build up an extreme tolerance for poison.
For instance, when we first inhale one single puff of a cigarette we can turn green and feel as sick as the proverbial dog.
Yet a few weeks later, we can be smoking 20 cigarettes in a day and feeling as cool as James Dean.
Same thing in Victorian times apparently. People would regularly ingest enough poison (Laudanum was popular) to kill an army. But because they had slowly built up tolerance they were fine…all jolly and relaxed.
I heard from a lady yesterday who is working 14 hours a day in a job she’s had for years. AND she barely makes enough to cover her bills.
Her job is poison. But she has a tolerance. It feels normal.
This is key.
I asked her would you have taken that job in the first place if you’d known it would end up 14 hours a day…unthanked and unloved…debts and bills still hanging around?
No. A categorical answer.
Poison is a negative subject I admit. But think about how much more powerful we can become when we understand the nature of it?
For instance, what if we find an area of our life where we can start removing the negative effects (even slowly is fine)?
How strong will we become when we stop settling and putting up with less than we deserve?
And YOU deserve a LOT.
Because you are the antidote.
Because you want to make this world better for others. And you believe they can become abundant.
Most people don’t even think about that stuff. They’re busy unknowingly poisoning themselves and others.
You’re different. You’re awesome 🙂
